Timothy Randall Nechuta, Organist

Timothy Nechuta, Williamston, Michigan, is a 2024 graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan, where he received the Bachelor of Music degree while studying with Dr. Huw Lewis. He began his organ study in 5th grade with John Horak, Director of Music at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lansing, Michigan, and he then continued organ study with Dr. Steven Egler in high school and after college. He is currently Organist at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Holt, Michigan. He has been the recipient of many awards and scholarships, including Hope College, the Greater Lansing and Saginaw Valley Chapters of the American Guild of Organists.
Mr. Nechuta’s program will include a wide variety of music by French, German, and American composers, including the rarely-heard First Sonata by the renown African-American composer, Florence Price, along with other works by Böhm, Locklair, Ore, and Yon. Admission is free and open to the public, yet donations will be accepted at the door.
